Frequently asked questions:
Q. I applied for School of Choice last year. Do I need to apply again?
A. If your child is in grade K-12, lives outside of the Marysville Public Schools (MPS) District, and has already submitted a School of Choice Application that has already been approved, you do not need to complete another School of Choice application, provided there has been continuous enrollment at MPS since acceptance, and you have not moved in and then back out of the district.
Q. My family lived in the District but has since moved out. We were School of Choice before that - do we need to apply again?
A. In the event that a child (grade K-12) has been accepted through Schools of Choice and then moves into the District, they now become a resident. While living in the District, the previous School of Choice status is no longer valid. If the same family later moves back out of the District, a School of Choice application must be completed. If the School of Choice window is closed, please reach out to your school to update your address and for waiver information. You will need to apply for School of Choice when the next window opens.
Q. We live outside of the District, and our children are currently enrolled at Marysville Public Schools through Schools of Choice. We have moved, are still in the county, but not in the Marysville Public Schools District. Do we need to reapply for Schools of Choice?
A. If your child(ren) are currently attending Mayrsville Public Schools through School of Choice and you have moved, but are still out of the district, you do not need to apply again. You do need to update your address with the school office.
Q: We moved in the middle of last year and completed a release to be able to attend Marysville Public School for the remainder of the school year. What do we need to do?
A. Students currently attending Marysville Public Schools on release will be required to complete a School of Choice application during the next School of Choice window.

School of Choice Application
Applications are available when the School of Choice window is open. There are two periods per year when SOC applications are accepted: December and July. The exact dates are determined by St. Clair County RESA for the entire county. Each window is open for two weeks. The link to the online application will be made available as soon as it is released.
If you would like to be added to the list to be notified when the next window opens, please complete this form. On the day the window opens, you will be contacted via email with the link to apply.
School of Choice Openings
School of Choice openings for each grade will be posted prior to the School of Choice window opening.
If we receive more applicants than there are slots available, a draw will be made to determine who will be accepted. Determinations will be reported to St. Clair County RESA, who will notify families.
