Building and Grounds
At Marysville Public Schools, providing a safe, clean, and welcoming environment is essential to helping our students learn, grow, and succeed. Behind the scenes, each day is a dedicated team of custodians and facilities staff who work tirelessly to ensure our buildings and grounds are well cared for and ready for learning. From preparing classrooms and maintaining common areas to keeping our campuses safe and inviting, their attention to detail supports the success of every student and staff member.
Whether serving year-round, part-time, or during the busy summer months, these hardworking team members are an essential part of Marysville Public Schools. Their commitment, pride in their work, and care for our schools help create the positive environment our students deserve. We are incredibly grateful for the dedication they bring to our district every single day.

Pesticide Use
As part of Marysville Public Schools’ commitment to maintaining safe, clean learning environments, pesticides may occasionally be applied on school district property as part of our pest management program. In accordance with Michigan law, parents and legal guardians have the right to request advance notification when pesticides are scheduled to be applied to school buildings or grounds.
Families who wish to receive advance notice may complete a request form and return it to their child’s school office or send it directly to the Buildings and Grounds Manager, Mike Roehl, at 495 E. Huron Blvd., Marysville, MI 48040. You may also call 810-455-6290 to have your household added to the notification list.
While the district strives to provide advance notice whenever possible, emergency situations may require pesticide applications without prior notification. In these cases, families who have requested notification will be informed after the application has occurred.
All pesticide applications are conducted by certified or registered applicators when required by law. Additional safety precautions are also followed:
If pesticides are applied inside a building, students will not occupy the room for at least four hours.
A notice sign will be posted for 48 hours near the building’s primary entrance following an indoor application.
When pesticides are applied outdoors, applications will not occur within 100 feet of occupied classrooms, and flags will mark the treated area.
These practices help ensure that pest management is conducted responsibly while maintaining a safe environment for our students, staff, and visitors.
